Turkey denies renewal of Can Dündar’s press card

Turkey’s Directorate General of Press and Information (BYEGM) has denied of renewal of his permanent press card due to “national security policy.”

Directorate General of Press and Information (BYEGM), has denied Cumhuriyet Daily’s former editor in chief, Can Dündar’s request of renewal of his permanent press card.

Evaluating Dündar’s request of renewal in 2016, BYEGM denied Dündar’s application and added that a decision whether Dündar’s press card will be revoked, would be made in the next meeting of the Press Card Commission.
